#SLPeeps Please pass this on . . .

I can't believe that this job has been advertised four times now:

* an unusual and rather lovely "family friendly" post as part of a well-established, welcoming team

* in a beautiful part of the UK with low cost-of-living

* exceptional culture and city-life with National Parks and stunning coast line on the doorstep

The sad thing is, if there are no takers this time then the post will be "disappeared" - gone!

Please pass this on to any Speech & Language Therapists/Pathologists in the UK or further afield who might be interested, before it is too late!

Many thanks,
Liz

Due to some temporary contract work and internal movement, the Speech and Language Therapy Department has some capacity to recruit to specialist sessions for adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. These will vary depending on the needs of the service at the time; however we currently have work available for therapists experienced in delivering services to both acute and community settings. There is a full time opportunity which will run until the end of March 2011 at least.

We are particularly keen to develop a bank of staff who are interested in temporary hours who would like to develop a relationship with the department.

We are a service driven by evidence-based practice and have close links with Newcastle University. There will be opportunities to further pilot work, set up projects, design evaluations and become involved in audit and research activity.

Across Northumberland we have excellent links with both adult and children’s services and are keen to extend this joint working further.

The post holder will be part of a friendly supportive department offering regular team meetings and a commitment to professional development. If you are interested to come and develop your skills with us please contact:
